How very true.

Americans are very benevolently ignorant about so many things, surprising how it does not scare the shit out of the government. Although it is always easier to manage ignorant population than a well-informed one.

I think you didn't get the point of this.
American ingorance is ufortunate, yet it's harmless as it is benevolent.
Meanwhile Canadian well-informedness is not so commendable for it is obsessive, smug and self-righteous.
